Scottish Borders Climate Action Network (SBCAN) has opened applications for its Act for Change Fund, offering grants of up to £1,500 for community-led projects that support environmental sustainability and climate action across the Scottish Borders.
The fund is designed to help constituted community groups turn practical ideas into reality during 2027, supporting local initiatives that encourage people to take positive action for a more sustainable future.
This year, SBCAN is offering two levels of funding:
The Act for Change Fund supports projects that engage communities with environmental issues and climate action, helping local people make a difference through practical, everyday actions.
SBCAN is keen to hear from groups with ideas that will help communities reduce their environmental impact, improve local sustainability and encourage positive climate action.
Projects could include:
The fund recognises that small actions can make a significant difference. Whether encouraging people to travel more actively, eat locally produced food, repair items instead of replacing them or learn new skills, SBCAN is looking to support projects that help create lasting environmental benefits across the Scottish Borders.
Applications for the Act for Change Fund are open now and will close at 11.59pm on 8th November 2026.
Further information about the fund, eligibility criteria and the application process is available on the SBCAN website.
Through the Act for Change Fund, SBCAN aims to support grassroots projects that empower communities across the Scottish Borders to take practical action on climate change and build a more sustainable future.
