Health in Mind is running a range of wellbeing workshops and courses across the Scottish Borders over the coming months, offering practical support for people experiencing anxiety, stress and other common mental health challenges.

Taking place in Kelso, Galashiels, Peebles and Eyemouth, the sessions provide opportunities to learn new coping strategies, build resilience and connect with others in supportive community settings.

Upcoming workshops and courses

A variety of courses are currently open for registration, covering topics including anxiety management, stress management, mindfulness, resilience and overall wellbeing.

  • Anxiety Management, Kelso – Starts 10th September 2026.
This five-week programme supports people experiencing anxiety or excessive worry to better understand their symptoms and develop practical coping strategies.
  • Stress Management, Kelso – Starts 22nd October 2026.
This four-week course explores the causes and impact of stress, helping participants identify techniques that can build resilience and support wellbeing.
  • Ways to Wellbeing, Galashiels – Starts 8th October 2026.
Running over 10 weeks, this programme combines practical wellbeing tools, creative coping strategies and peer-led discussions in a supportive setting.

Participants explore a range of wellbeing topics including mindfulness, managing anxiety, building resilience and setting healthy boundaries.
  • Anxiety Management, Eyemouth – Starts 19th November 2026.
This five-week programme offers practical approaches to understanding and managing anxiety in a peer support environment.

The workshops aim to provide safe and welcoming spaces where people can learn more about their mental health, reflect on their experiences and discover approaches that may support their wellbeing.

Spaces are limited and anyone interested in attending is encouraged to register as early as possible.

One-to-one and peer support

Alongside the workshops and courses, short waiting times are currently available for one-to-one mental health support and peer support services in the Scottish Borders.

The services are available to adults aged 18 and over experiencing mild to moderate emotional or mental health difficulties. Support focuses on developing coping strategies and self-management tools, with up to 10 weeks of personalised support available.

Sessions can be delivered in person, online or by telephone and are tailored to the individual’s needs and circumstances.

Drop-in information and signposting

For those looking to find out more about local mental health and wellbeing support, Information Stations are available each month in communities across the Borders.

The drop-in sessions offer a welcoming space to access information, self-help resources, community connections and signposting to relevant local services. No appointment is required.

  • Duns – second Tuesday of the month, midday-2pm
  • Peebles – second Wednesday of the month, 10am-12.30pm
  • Hawick – second Thursday of the month, 10am-12.30pm
