FND Dimensions is a charitable incorporated organisation based in England and Wales, dedicated to supporting individuals and communities across the region who live with Functional neurological disorder (FND). With a mission to foster connection, inclusion, and positive change, FND Dimensions strives to enhance well-being and strengthen local communities who support members living with FND from the perspective of lived experience as our volunteers also live with the condition themselves.
Established as a charitable incorporated organisation, FND Dimensions operates under the charity number 1170584. It was started by Steve Webster our founder, visiting others in hospital who had just received their diagnosis in 2014. The charity was born in 2016 thanks to the first 6 trustees and since then has supported more than 3600 individuals across the UK. Commitment to community support and development is evident in its mission and activities. In 2025/26 we have grown our membership by 25%.
FND Dimensions offers a range of services aimed at promoting social inclusion and community engagement. These services are designed to address the diverse needs of individuals with FND within the UK, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment. By providing these services, FND Dimensions plays a vital role in enhancing mutual support for those living with FND.
As a charitable incorporated organisation, FND Dimensions is governed by a board of trustees who mainly live with FND themselves oversee its operations and strategic direction. This structure ensures that the organisation remains focused on its mission and effectively serves the needs of the community. Currently we have 9 trustees.
Together with other UK charities FND Dimensions created FND Awareness Day UK in 2017, which is held on 25th March each year. Other charities mark the 13 April for awareness.
Looking ahead, FND Dimensions continues to be dedicated to its mission of fostering connection, inclusion, and positive change. Through its ongoing commitment, the organisation aims to further enhance well-being and strengthen connections for those who live with FND using online meetings, in-person events, arts, crafts and music events to help aid positive health benefits.
There are currently 6 local groups in Scotland, with Dumfries and Scottish Borders having in- person meetings supported by a trained volunteer.
