Leitholm Village Hall Trust is a volunteer-led organisation dedicated to enhancing community life in Leitholm, Scottish Borders. By providing a welcoming space for events, activities, and private hires, they foster social connections and support local initiatives. Their commitment to inclusivity and sustainability ensures a vibrant and healthy environment for all residents. With ongoing support, they aim to further enrich the community’s well-being and cohesion.

Established to serve as a central hub for the Leitholm community, the hall has become a cornerstone of local life. The hall hosts a variety of events, including community gatherings, educational workshops, and cultural activities, catering to diverse interests and age groups. This versatility makes it a focal point for residents seeking both social interaction and personal development opportunities.

By ensuring that the Hall is has good, disability friendly premises, we are able to be available for a wide range of activities. Regular events such as the Lego Club, which began in January 2024, offer children from various schools and backgrounds the chance to engage in creative play and build social skills. These initiatives not only entertain but also contribute to the personal growth and well-being of participants.

We are aiming to be as sustainable as possible within the constraints of running an older building. Efforts to improve the hall’s energy efficiency and reduce its environmental footprint through is ongoing. This year we are updating our lighting and have installed solar panels. These initiatives ensure that the hall remains a sustainable and enduring asset for future generations.

Governance is managed by a dedicated team of volunteers who oversee the hall’s operations and strategic direction. The aim is for the Trust to become a SCIO to ensure that it has a strong and relevant constitution for the future.

Looking ahead, the Trust is committed to further enriching the community’s well-being and cohesion. Through ongoing support and engagement, they aim to continue providing a space that nurtures social connections, supports local initiatives, and contributes to the overall vitality of Leitholm.
