Sharon Cleghorn

Community Development Lead

Sharon joined Borders Community Action as Community Development Lead in June 2025. Originally from Dublin, Ireland, she moved to Scotland in 2000 and spent many years working in office administration. Since settling in the Scottish Borders in 2012, Sharon has been an active member of the local community.

She first became involved through volunteering with school parent groups and other organisations, and today she continues to play a key role as a Trustee with A Heart For Duns. She can often be found at Duns Volunteer Hall – whether behind the bar, helping to organise events, or lending a hand wherever needed.

A passionate advocate for volunteering and the vital role of the Third Sector, Sharon is committed to supporting local individuals and organisations. She welcomed the opportunity to join BCA and looks forward to contributing her energy, skills, and community spirit in this new role.
