From 30th June 2025, OSCR began collecting charity trustee information through OSCR Online. Providing this information is a legal requirement for all charities, so if you haven’t yet input your charity trustee information, please take action now.

While OSCR do ask for the full name, home address, email address, telephone number, date of birth and date of appointment as charity trustee, it’s important to note that only the first and last names of charity trustees will be published, alongside the charity annual reports and accounts (unless an exemption has been approved by OSCR where the names will not be published). All other trustee information will remain confidential, unless a charity chooses to disclose additional details in its own annual report and accounts.

In certain circumstances, charity trustees can have their name exempted from being published on the Scottish Charity Register. This exemption only applies after an application for an exemption has been approved by OSCR, and it will only be approved when specific criteria is met.

For further information on how to update your charity trustee information and who is eligible for an exemption and how to apply for one, please follow this link.
