The Lavender Touch – Caiti Beattie

Caiti has been involved in volunteering with The Lavender Touch since she was 7 years old, a charity which provides support to people through their cancer experience.

Starting to help her mum, who is the Chairperson of the charity, Caiti was often seen with a bucket helping to fundraise or give an extra hand to set up for events. Caiti, now, 28 years of age, often assists other members of the board with things like Google Drive, emails, social media and general IT.

Being on the board has given Caiti the confidence and time to practise her leadership skills, management of projects and get to grips with various business approaches and processes such as polices, interviews and general management.

Caiti feels that a huge benefit of volunteering and being on the board is the fact that “she gives what she can when she can and no one asks for more, everything is enough”, being able to join meetings and contribute to projects online has been a massive plus.
