A professional therapist in a modern office setting engaged in a discussion with a client.

This two-hour training session is designed for anyone who may receive a disclosure of trauma in their role. Co-facilitated by members of the Integrated Psychological Trauma Steering Group, participants will develop an understanding of trauma-informed practice, explore the impact trauma can have on individuals and gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to respond safely, compassionately and appropriately.

The session also covers recognising safeguarding concerns and understanding when to refer individuals for specialist support.

This course will be delivered in person at Scottish Borders Rape Crisis Centre in Galashiels.

Alongside this workshop, staff are encouraged to complete the ‘Developing your trauma-skilled practice 1’ e-learning module on Turas Learn. Attendance at the Trauma-Skilled Training: Transforming Connections programme is also recommended.
